Yanwei Nie is from Jiangmen, Guangdong Province and speaks Cantonese as the first language. He holds a Master's with Distinction from City University of Hong Kong. Before he joined XJTLU, he had worked as an English lecturer for 6 years at Shantou University, Guangdong Province, delivering various courses like the pre-sessional EAP course for bio-medical engineering students, general EAP courses for non-English majors and language courses for English double-major students. Moreover, Yanwei is experienced in curriculum reform, material development and assessment design as he assumed the role of course coordinator at Shantou University for 4 years. Aspiring to be an excellent EFL practitioner and researcher, Yanwei is proactive in academic exchange at conferences and in paper publishing. In his spare time, he loves learning Korean and swimming.
