Overview

In the BEng Digital Media Technology programme, you will learn how computerised or electronic devices can represent, record, transmit, process, display and interact with multimedia information, such as text, audio, images, video and animations.

Computer science technologies you will learn about include programming, signal and image processing, internets, computer graphics and game design, and multimedia system management.

Studying this programme will give you a fundamental understanding of electronic engineering and computer science, with an emphasis on digital media technology.

WHY SHOULD I STUDY DIGITAL MEDIA TECHNOLOGY AT XJTLU?

This programme has a 2+2 articulation route to BEng Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (Digital Media Technology Pathway) at the University of Liverpool;
The programme is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and British Computer Society (BCS), and is the only XJTLU programme accredited by both;
Take advantage of the fact that the MSc Multimedia Telecommunications and MRes Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems programmes leading to a University of Liverpool degree are available as an extension course for the BEng Digital Media Technology programme; and
Earn two degrees: an XJTLU degree from the Chinese Ministry of Education and a globally recognised degree from the University of Liverpool, a member of the Russell Group of leading UK universities.

a broad understanding of the hardware and software that support the digital media industries;
an appreciation of the way hardware and software can be used creatively within the media industries; and
the ability to use your knowledge and skills in the development of new and imaginative digital media projects.

The BEng Digital Media Technology programme will bring you to the forefront of the incoming artificial intelligence era in which image, video and interactive contents convey the bulk of information.

DMT is an excellent programme with a well-designed curriculum. In this programme, I learned knowledge not only from books but also from practice, including experiments and projects. Throughout my undergraduate career, I learned about algorithms, mathematics, and electronic engineering. The courses I took laid a solid foundation for further research and study in artificial intelligence, mobile computing, computer graphics, and signal processing.
