Teaching assistant

Provide additional learning support to students where identified
Maintain the classroom environment in an organized and orderly manner to ensure an optimal learning experience
Work collaboratively with faculty members
Able to utilize Learning Mall and other online teaching methods
Laboratory demonstration and support for practical work in the classroom
Attendance on and support with field courses
One-to-one or group tutoring
Invigilation of formal examinations and/or class tests
Marking of formative assignments and summative assessments with appropriate training. PGR students must never act as the sole examiner on any summative assessment; any work that has been marked by a PGR student MUST be included in the sample provided for internal and external moderation.
Provide faculty staff with technical support. These include setting up the lecture and tutorial venues before class starts; taking attendance; following up on student submissions
Provide administrative support for ad hoc events or seminars.
Surface any potential challenges early to faculty staff.

Proficient spoken and written English
Excellent verbal and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent presentations skills, and skillful in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, prioritization skill, and time management
Familiar with Learning Mall, Big Blue Button, and other online teaching methods
Be adaptable and open to change
Ability to engage students of all learning levels
Compassionate, positive, and encouraging attitude
In depth knowledge of the subject or discipline preferred
Previous TA working experience preferred
