9-27-98 "Debbie, I really enjoyed your website! I don't know much about computers so I haven't learned how to look at everything you have to offer! I also had those checks you have. Hallmark this year is offering a Christmas ornament of him in his Notre Dame uniform this year! Several years ago they had him in his 49ers and his Chiefs. You might be able to find a collector to get one! Thanks!" Tracy a.k.a. THRedhead.Hallmark has such neat stuff. There are several sites on the web for those who want to collect Montana ornaments. I'll have to get some. Thanks for sharing!
9-25-98 "I just read your web page. I am a huge fan of Joe Montana, too. I am 18 years old and in my first year of college. Since I was in first grade, my dream has been to meet Joe Montana. March 7, 1998 my dad helped to fulfill this dream. It was honestly the best day of my life. I am not obsessed with him like most girls, but he is my hero and my example of everything I'd like to be. I am a Christian also and I'm wondering if you know if Joe is. I've heard he is, but really don't know. Please let me know. If you are interested, I will tell you about my day with Joe. It is a long story, so I won't write it now. Thank you for the pictures of Joe included in your webpage. Finding your webpage was awesome!" - Angela Shull.
To my knowledge, Joe is. I'd love to hear about your day. Keep in touch.
9-14-98 "Hello, Joe Montana is my favorite athlete of all time. You give him the ball with two minutes and a chance to win and you are finished. The best game I've ever seen played in the NFL was when Kansas City played Denver on Monday night football a couple years ago. Around two minutes left John Elway gets a pass for a touchdown called back. You can see the sheer anger on his face! The next play John runs it in defiantly by himself. The only problem was that he left Joe Montana about two minutes on the clock. Even the announcers said it was great, but you left Joe Montana two minutes, you're done. Sure enough, he managed the clock like the pro that he was. With nanoseconds on the clock, Joe threw a touchdown pass with no seconds on the clock for the winning touchdown, and I think it was to Marcus Allen! Long before that pass I knew that Joe Montana was my favorite athlete of all time! I also listened on the radio when Joe made "The Catch," and I was twelve at the time. My dad told me it was OVER! But I refused to believe that! When I heard "The Catch" I had known all along that the 49ers would win. I was so pleased to find your website and listen to the sound bites! Thank you for reminding me of how great of a player Joe Montana was!" - Greg Miner.
Absolutely! Wasn't he just The Best?! Only a fool would bet against Joe with two minutes on the clock. That's just "great football!" Thanks for emailing me, Greg!
9-9-98 "By the looks of your site I believe you may help be settle a friendly
wager. Does Joe Montana have a hair piece of any kind? Let me know you can help. Thanks. Hope to hear from you." - Mark Dunker.Good grief! Now THAT's a FIRST. No, I don't think so. (Like I'm privvy to this?) I heard Joe just got a buzz cut (I'm posting this answer in January) but I haven't seen it.
8-29-98 "Debbie, I really enjoyed looking through your Joe Montana web page." - Mando123.
Mando, I'm glad you stopped by!
8-26-98 "Hi, I've sent you a message or two before. Just visited your site again, and what can I say, it always brings back the memories of those golden days. I had to write to you again. I'm sure it was heaven in Candlestick (I refuse to call it 3COM Park) on the day they retired #16. I couldn't find a link to the details of your visit. You may not remember, but the last time I sent you mail, I talked about Jake Plummer. I'm really a Chiefs fan, but something about that kid reminds me of Montana. The reason I mention him again in this message is that he was recently mentioned by none other than Bill Walsh himself. In a recent Up Close (ESPN), when asked about who was better in the draftee QB's (the ubiquitous Leaf/Manning debate), Bill Walsh emphatically mentioned Plummer as the best among the new QBs. In fact, he said if he were coaching today, he would prefer him over ANY other active QB. He said he isn't ready to compare him to Montana yet, but he sees all the signs. Although there will never be another Montana, it's nice to know that we may still get a glimpse of a familiar persona and charisma. Take care," - Aasem Khan. The link for my writeup on his jersey retirement is on the Unofficial Fan Club page for December 1997. Bill knows talent when he sees it. Let's watch Jake the Snake and see what develops. Take care, Aasem!
8-24-98 "Hi Deb, How's it going? I hope you and your family are well. Have you seen this new Hanes commercial that has a Joe look- alike, (or may be Joe) at the end he sticks his head in the dryer? They only show his face for a few moments and I think it looks like Joe, but, I'm not sure. Have you seen it? Is it Joe? Take care." - Kim Chadbourne.
I'm not sure if I saw it or not. I don't know if he's still a spokesman for Hanes. Has anyone out there heard if he is?
8-18-98 "Keep the magic going, great page great work! Another Joe fan!" - Ron Neri.
Thank you, Ronald!
8-14-98 "Hey Debster: I'm one of the luckiest people alive---I'm gonna have lunch with Joe on Sunday the 16th of August and I am soooooooooooooooo excited. It's hard just to sit still and type this letter. Have you heard of the event? It's in Grass Valley, CA. He's doing it to support Nevada County Schools Athletic Programs. Rough and Ready Productions are putting it on. E-mail address is JoeMontana.com----Wonderful if you'd be there. I know my feet aren't gonna touch the ground the whole day. Check out the webpage if you aren't gonna go (to see what you're gonna miss). And once again, you truly have the BEST PAGE that I've even seen on Joe. And I've searched all over and am, myself, a huge collector of his cards through Daniel Smith artwork. Anything at all. Talk to you later, and I do you hope you are going." - Suzanne Snow, Visalia, CA.
I'm very happy for you! Enjoy the day, Suzanne - and take lots of photos!
8-11-98 "Hi Debbie: I must be the second biggest Joe Montana fan. I just saw your website and I want you to know that I love Joe also. I went to KC to see the 49ers play the Chiefs when Joe was the KC QB. I would really like to exchange Joe stories. Feel free to write me!" - Pam Ruff.
Sure thing, Pam!
8-10-98 "Deb, Hey girlfriend! I just wanted to let you know that I just toured your website and found it absolutely wonderful! As I am sitting here in my home office now, I am surrounded by Joe Montana portraits as well as Kansas City memorabilia. The Chiefs rule! My name is Linda and I am a fairly new web user/browser. I really enjoy it, though I have a lot to learn. You are the first web page I have ever found interesting enough to E-mail a response to. I live in Michigan, have a wonderful husband, an adorable little four-year-old son named Cody Montana, and I love football! I am the commissioner for a fantasy football league and have been doing that for the past three years now. I made a trip to Kansas City last year just to see the stadium and tour the city. It was totally awesome. I am in hopes to go back during football season this year and enjoy a game. I spent over $300. at the Rite-Aid store there buying all Chiefs stuff. It was great! My goal in life is to collect every Joe Montana card ever made. I have more than 3/4 now and am still going strong though they are getting harder to find since his retirement. Do you happen to know when he will be inducted to the football hall of fame in Canton, OH? I would love to make arrangements to go and see that ceremony as you did the one in San Francisco. How sweet! Everything I own is Kansas City Chiefs from watches, footballs, mouse pads, coffee cups, night shirts, checks, calendars, comforter, you name it, I probably got it. As a matter of fact, we just finished redoing Cody's room in the Chiefs with the border, comforter, lamp, lithographs, etc . . . He loves it and so do I. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful website with me. You have a lovely family and it looks like you have a lot of fun! I will think of you when I watch football every Sunday and especially Monday Night Football. I know you will be cheering for those Chiefs and singing that chant too! GO CHIEFS! Your friend," - Linda Slyver :)
Yes! Y2K doesn't only mean computer bugs, it means Joe's eligible for induction to the Football Hall of Fame. I'm planning on being there! Are you going? If so, drop me a line! I hope to have a page up soon with all the particulars about Canton for those of us who are planning on being there. You should see my office, too! Isn't it great?! Take care Linda!
8-2-98 "Hi I was just wondering what Joe Montana's children's names are, " - George M Baird.
Alexandra, Elizabeth, Nathaniel, and Nicholas.
8-1-98 "Great to find your page. Before Joe Montana, football never got my attention. But when I moved to San Francisco in the late 70's and then happened upon Joe, I began to love the game and I've been hooked ever since. I miss him now - always wonder what he's up to. Great to see your page. Joe and I have the same birthday (June 11), but I'm five years older - and female . . . would love to E-mail HIM!" - Laura Dunn.
You can E-mail Joe at his official fan club site at http://www.joemontanafanclub.com.
7-31-98 "How goes it? I'd love to check out more of your site, but I surfed in from a link and don't remember where it was. I'm also ecstatic that it's that time of year again! Catch you later." - Joseph Fox.
First rule of web surfing: When you find a site you love, bookmark it! Thanks for surfing in, and I hope you find your way back here again!
7-30-98 "Hi Deb! Fantastic page! My name is Jo. I live in Western Australia. Your type of football isn't well known here but I stay up late and watch it when it's on (which is usually around 2:00 a.m.). I am a huge Montana fan. I had to order his book from overseas because nobody has heard of it here. The game isn't the same without him in it. I don't follow any team anymore. I can't follow the 49ers because I don't like Young. Joe was in Australia but he only went to Melbourne and I live in Perth which is on the other side of the country. I was praying that I would win the lottery so I could get over there but no such luck. I have Jo's Kansas City shirt (which a friend brought back from the USA) but I would love to have a 49ers shirt, do you know where I could get one? Great talking to you. Hi to all the Joe Montana fans!" - Jo Higgins.
Hi Jo! Yes, now Joe is selling his autographed jerseys from Notre Dame, 49ers, and Chiefs on his official web site. Great talking to you, too!
7-29-98 "Great pics of Joe. I really enjoyed your site. I knew Joe when he was at Notre Dame but haven't seen him in years. Would love to E-mail him if you have an address." - Linda Egan.
Linda, your best bet is to join Joe's official fan club on his site. Thanks for the compliments on the site!
7-28-98 "Thanks for the great page! Glad to see someone else agrees with me." - Cathie Sims.
Great minds think alike!
7-24-98 "Hi! I think your page is the best. I'm 18 years old, and I've been a Chiefs fan for 12 years. It's hard because I live in Philadelphia. I can't watch all the Chiefs games. Montana's the best quarterback ever. I've been a Montana fan for a longggg time. My brother's a 49ers fan. He's the one who got me liking Super Joe. Thanks!" - ArrowHeadP63.
I have the same problem trying to catch the Chiefs games in California. Next year: Direct TV! Take care!
7-17-98 "Hi! Debbie, Hope you and your family are all well! I haven't written in a while. I did, however, go to San Jose to a store called The Fan Club. What a nice bunch of folks. I joined their Joe Montana Fan Club and bought several items. Really nice store. I couldn't have found it without your guidance! So, thanks again. Did you ever get your information from the Joe Montana Fan Club that you joined. Last conversation, you had not received your membership packet yet. I was wondering what was in it." - Kim Chadbourne.
Yes, I got all the goodies! And I loved the T-shirt! And the newsletter! And the pictures! In fact, it's about time to renew our dues again, they are up to be renewed in February 1999 (I'm posting this message in January 1999).
7-12-98 "I'm using my cousin's PC, and was just looking around and found your page. It is terrific! You must be ALMOST as big a fan as me. Ha! I really enjoyed looking through your stuff. Keep it up. I have more than 400 of Joe's football cards, and various other memorabilia. He's the greatest. Thank you for sharing your work with fans like me. Sincerely," Helen Waddell, North Carolina.
Love to share with fellow fans! Take care, Helen!
7-12-98 "I really enjoyed your page on Joe Montana. I know you probably can't reply to everyone personally, but is there an address where I can write to Joe Montana? He's my favorite football player of all time!" - Kelly (a.k.a. Ashes).
Go to Joe's official fan club site and send it in care of information@joemontanafanclub.com .
7-12-98 "Hello there! I'm a regular visitor of your Montana site and think it's a great resource for images. I recently ran across a screen saver called ScreenPix which plays JPG's, BMP's, etc. as a screen saver, so now I can turn the pictures I download from your site into a custom screen saver. I know it's been an excellent addition to my image collection and I thought you might want to put a link on your site for your visitors that may not know where to find good software. There is a shareware version available for free at: Download link: http://galttech.simplenet.com/scrnpix.zip Homepage:
http://www.galttech.com/screenpix.html . The same company also makes an excellent image viewer called EZ Viewer (it can also convert GIFs to JPGs, print out pictures, resize pictures, etc.) at:Download: http://galttech.simplenet.com/ezview.zip Homepage: http://www.galttech.com/ezviewer.html. I think these programs would keep your visitors coming back even more often, because now they could use and enjoy your great pictures everyday! Keep up the great site, I'll try to visit as often as possible. Thanks" - Greg Dear. This is so cool! I now have this. Thanks for sharing!
7-6-98 "Debbie, I have been trying to send Joe Montana an essay my son wrote which I think he would enjoy reading. Would you have any idea how or where I could send it so that he would have the opportunity to read it? Thanks for your help." - BOneal6462.
Yes, contact the folks that run Joe's official web site. It's at
http://www.joemontanafanclub.com . They'll get it to him.
7-4-98 "Debbie, I love your page. Montana was so great. Words alone cannot do justice. I wish I can find more people who appreciate him for the greatest player ever as you do. Thank you for making my day. You brought back a lot of memories that I am sure I will never forget. Looking forward to chatting with you someday. Sincerely, " a fan of Joe Montana, Wilhelm J. Hansen. Thanks, Wilhelm! You made my day!
